Howard Hughes has been described in a variety of ways; from adventurous to eccentric, intelligent to charming, ambitious to daring, and of course, an early born Houstonian. The 2004 Martin Scorsese film The Aviator, in which Leonardo DiCaprio portrayed Hughes brilliantly, helped give a glimpse into the fast-paced lifestyle of a man remembered for his risk-taking as much as his knack for peculiar habits. And in continuing with the Howard Hughes mantra, local venue Hughes Hangar has taken a risk that’s paid off and in turn has brought a refreshing and unconventional twist to the Washington corridor.

At the Great Tequila Shootout Tequila & Cocktail Festival last month it was all about shots, specialty drinks and spectacular flavors. Even though the rain intervened, the festival continued with top tequila brands vying for the top spot of most wanted tequila. One of the top contenders of the day was the always tasty Cavalino Tequila.
